We have done lots of learning today :)
This morning we started working on our learning maps - once these are finished we will display them in the classroom so you can see how we like to learn :)
For maths we ran two different workshops. One was on skip counting to solve word problems and the other was on counting on from the largest number.
During shared reading we looked at all the different words in our books.
We discussed using different voices when we see speech marks and looked at using expression when we read.
We discussed the 'wow words' from the texts.
We looked at the different blends and word families in the texts.
We then discussed the suffix -ed and how this changes the meaning of the words.
Today we learnt about contractions. We created charts and contraction matching games to do at home for homelink. The children have been challenged to find the contractions in their readers tonight :)
The teachers and Sifa have been reading one on one with the children each day :)
This afternoon we had a Pikorua learning group meeting where we sung songs and talked about our learning.
What a busy day!!!
